Sue Bierman Park is a 4.5-acre urban park between the Financial District and the Embarcadero, divided by Drumm Street and closely linked to Embarcadero Plaza and the Ferry Building area.

History
Completed in 1975 as Ferry Park, the space was originally designed alongside Embarcadero Plaza by Lawrence Halprin & Associates. It was renamed in 2007 for civic activist and former supervisor Sue Bierman, then substantially redesigned around 2010.
Sue Bierman Park Renovation | Notice of Tree Removals
Tree removals will begin on or after September 14, 2026. Once tree work begins, it is expected to last five weeks. Sections of the park and connected pathways will be closed intermittently.
