Mount Olympus is a small hilltop open space on Upper Terrace in Ashbury Heights, once regarded as the geographic center of San Francisco.

  • Triumph of Light pedestalA surviving pedestal marks the site of the lost statue that once stood at the hilltop.

History

The summit was formerly crowned by Adolph Sutro’s Triumph of Light statue. The statue is gone, but its pedestal remains as the defining trace of the hill’s earlier civic symbolism.
