About this place

Eureka Valley/Harvey Milk Memorial Branch Library is a Castro neighborhood library whose name commemorates Harvey Milk and whose adjoining section of 16th Street honors José Sarria.

1961

History

The original McCreery Branch opened in 1902 and was replaced after earthquake damage by the present building in 1961. The branch was renamed for Harvey Milk in 1981, and the adjacent José Sarria Court received its name in 2006.
